The first 10 years here at Health Information Management Systems have surpassed all of our expectations. We’ve grown our team, developed new software, developed even better new software, and helped countless integrated health care organizations improve patient outcomes and grow their revenue.
As 2024 comes to a close, we look back on 10 milestones from our first 10 years:
1. Khalid Al-Maskari founded Health Information Management Systems (HiMS) in 2014 in the basement of a 100-year-old building in downtown Tucson, Ariz. – with the vision to build a better behavioral health care software solution
2. HiMS established offices in Phoenix (2015) and Lehi, Utah (2020) to further support integrated health care providers in their missions to deliver quality, value-based care.
3. HiMS introduced the MyHealtheHome Patient Portal in 2017, the first iteration of what is now known as Axiom Connect. Thousands of behavioral health patients and providers use the platform every day to communicate and share information for improved care and better outcomes.
4. With the launch of Axiom v.1 EHR software in 2018, HiMS offers behavioral health care providers a new solution to improve data capture and the overall experience for their patients and their practices.
5. The Minority and Small Business Alliance of Southern Arizona names HiMS the 2019 Technology Firm of the Year, and the American Business Awards (the Stevie Awards) honor HiMS in the Best Health Care Technology Category for 2020, underscoring the company’s commitment to innovation.
6. At the start of pandemic lockdowns, HiMS quickly helped COPE Community Services launch its telehealth services in a matter of days, at a time when technology implementations can typically take nine months or more. This quick action ensured patients could continue to get the care they needed during a critical time.
7. The Axiom EHR solution was named 2022’s Best EHR Solution in the MedTech Breakthrough Awards, and HiMS was also selected as one of Phoenix Business Journal’s Most Admired Companies for 2022.
8. In 2022, AxiaGram Mobile became the first all-in-one mobile communication app for behavioral health care providers to seamlessly integrate with any EHR.
9. In addition to COPE Community Services, HiMS helps integrated health care companies across the country, including CBR Youth Connect, Open Hearts Family Wellness, Service Access & Management, and Southwest Behavioral Health Center, streamline workflows and leverage data to deliver meaningful patient care and drive revenue.
10. HiMS launched AxiomEHR in 2024, a game-changing, AI-powered EHR solution that improves patient care and health care outcomes, while reducing costs for integrated health care providers. The solution received the 2024 MedTech Breakthrough Award for EHR Innovation and the Merit Award for Healthcare.
